NAACP Award-Winning Writer-Director Tai French Explores Black Motherhood, Identity, and Mental Health Through her Twisting Psychological Thriller NO INVITE? on David Oyelowo and Nate Parker's MANSA.
LOS ANGELES, CA — AURA·VISION, a Los Angeles creative studio, announces that its microdrama thriller 'NO INVITE?' is available to stream exclusively on MANSA.
Comprised of twenty 2-minute episodes, 'NO INVITE?' delivers a suspenseful and emotionally resonant experience that examines Black motherhood, belonging, and maternal mental health through the lens of a psychological micro-thriller.
About the Series: Pregnant, isolated, and settling into a new home for the holidays, new mother Kazi struggles with the growing fear that life is moving on without her. When a relentless neighbor forces her way into Kazi's world, the odd obsession quickly escalates into a terrifying psychological battle. But as reality starts to fracture, Kazi discovers that not everything or everyone is what it seems.
Written, directed, and helmed by French (who also shot and edited the series) 'NO INVITE?' combines tension, dark humor, and emotional depth while inviting audiences to question perception, isolation, and the stories we tell our minds.
“I'm beyond excited to partner with MANSA and share this psychological experience across the globe,” said French, founder of AURA·VISION and recipient of the 2018 NAACP Theatre Award for Best Playwright for her stage production Pound Cake. “Creating this series with friends during such uncertain times made it all the more special. What began as a story about FOMO and the many ways it can manifest became a much more poignant portrait of Black motherhood, maternal mental health, and the things we give or limit access to.”
As microdramas continue to emerge as one of the fastest-growing storytelling formats worldwide, 'NO INVITE?' pairs bite-sized episodes with layered themes rarely explored within the genre. Starring Shakari Gault (Godkissed) and POPE (A Different Kind of Forever), the series uses suspense as an entry point into conversations surrounding maternal wellness, social comparison, and the emotional realities many women navigate behind closed doors. The series also features performances from Nena Za, Nerlyn Jean, and Scott St. Patrick Williams.

About Tai French
Tai French is a NAACP Award-winning writer, director and playwright, also the founder and Vision Director of AURA·VISION. Her work explores the intersection of human connection, cultural & spiritual phenomena across film, television, theater and innovative media. As a performer, she studied under dance legend Debbie Allen and director Chip Fields.
French received the NAACP Theatre Award for Best Playwright for her 2018 stage production Pound Cake. Her creative credits include Godkissed, The Merry Christmas Man, and she is the innovator behind the Graphic Pilot, Crackin. Onscreen she was seen opposite Glenn Close on FX’s The Shield.
